Organic label claim checker

At 95% organic or above a label may use "Organic" in the product name and carry the certifier mark. Between 70% and 94% it may only say "made with organic" followed by the named ingredients, with no mark on the front of pack, and the European Union permits no organic claim at all in that band. Below 70% organic ingredients may only be named in the ingredient list.

    3 problems found

    • This claim is not available in the European Union

The EU organic regulation has no 70–94% tier. An EU pack for this product carries no front-of-pack organic claim; organic ingredients may still be identified in the ingredient list.

    • Keep the claim no larger than the product name

The "made with organic" phrase must not exceed the product name in font size. The checker cannot see type sizes — confirm on the artwork.

    • Front-of-pack organic claim at 86%: "Organic Berry Muesli"

Below 95% the pack may not represent the product as organic. Rewrite this line as "made with organic [named ingredients]".

    • "Certified organic" used below 95%

The phrase describes the product as organic, which is not available below 95%.

What this checks, and what it does not

    • It checks claim wording and mark eligibility against your organic percentage, per market.
    • It cannot see your artwork, so it cannot check logo size, colour, clear space or relative type size. Those rules are in organic logo rules by market.
    • It does not replace your certifier's artwork approval, which is required before printing.
    • It does not check Food Standards Code requirements — allergens, date marking, nutrition information and the rest still apply.
    • Nothing you type is sent anywhere; the check runs in your browser.

Check the artwork, not just the words

ANZOC's full label checker reads your artwork and checks mark size, colour, clear space and required adjacent text against each market's rules.
